Welfare Officer

Dear all,

Due to work commitments, Danielle Lee has decided to step down as Welfare Officer with immediate effect.

I would like to thank Dani for all her help over the last couple of years in raising the standard of welfare and safeguarding for all our members.

Safeguarding and protecting our members, particularly our child members is the highest priority for the City of Derby Swimming Club.

This afternoon my own education and training has been refreshed on safeguarding and protecting children and it’s raised further areas where we can improve to become more inclusive, improve of volunteer recruitment processes, and increase our resilience to the social and political pressures that are out there and very real. ┬áIt’s hugely important we recruit the right person to this role, so please bear with us during this process.

Please continue to work with Jo Buck (Safeguarding Officer) on DBS and general safeguarding matters.

However, in the interim any welfare complaints will need to be sent to me directly at chair.coderby.co.uk

Many thanks,

Steve Layton
