Over the weekend we had another great home meet.
We would like to thank all of our volunteers that gave their time, especially as it was a perfect Spring weekend and it being Mother’s Day.
It was good to see some of our long term members in the spectators stand allowing them a little break from club volunteering, which is a real pleasure for myself as it means that many of our newer members are now stepping up to the mark to help our club.
Thanks to all who served refreshments in our cafe which had been a last minute decision to run.
A big thanks goes to Ethan Billinge who came to help out Saturday on electronics, a great job he did, and this before the trip to Liverpool to compete in 1500free.
Team Managers, competition stewards, coaches, health and safety stewards, medal duties, door duties, refreshment volunteers, officials; a great team effort by everyone which resulted in a fantastic weekend for all of our swimmers. Thank you.
We hope to get more volunteers for our B grade in July to share the load, organising galas is very time consuming but essential to raising club funds to keep fees down.
I would like to see more volunteers coming forward to manage the electronics , whether it be in the back room compiling the race data or front of house on the timing equipment and not forgeting the all important announcer; don’t panic it’s not that bad! just ask Steve.
