Uttoxeter Celebrates Adam Peaty’s Olympic achievements

Adam Peaty took to the streets of Uttoxeter today with his family and friends in an open top bus.  The tour was organised by Uttoxeter Town Council in comemoration of his Olympic gold medal and world record breaking achievements  over the summer.

Starting from Adam’s family home, the bus tour took in the whole town, before ariving at the centre of town.  Following a short walk, to the Town Hall, Adam was presented with a Book of Pride by the Mayor.  The book contained personal messages of congratulations written by the people of Uttoxeter.  Thousands turned out in the centre of town, and along the route, all cheering and waving despite the rain!

It was a fantastic day and great to see so many City of Derby Swimming Club swimmers and parents representing the club so well, in pride of place outside the town hall.
