Training for Disability Coaching

Attention all coaching staff!

In order to further improve the very high quality of coaching provision we have at CoDerby we have been very fortunate in securing a training session for ALL coaching staff with Carl Cooper from the ASA regarding Para-Swimming. This session is provided free of charge to the club and once completed will allow the club to regain its hub club status for para-swimmers.

The session will provide coaches with a full overview of para-swimming including the British Swimming pathway for para-swimmers, from grass roots to elite level, how classification works and how para-swimming meets operate and the use of BPSP (British Para-Swimming Points). The session aims to increase your confidence in coaching swimmers with a range of disabilities including both physical and learning difficulties.

This will also be a great opportunity to ask any questions. Carl is a very experienced and knowledgeable Para-Swimming Pathway Officer and we will be working closely with him going forward.

The session will take place at 2 – 4pm on Sunday 22nd January at Kings Chambers (this will be confirmed nearer the time).

Please do try to join us, we look forward to seeing you there.
