A big well done to all the midland development swimmers who have performed exceptionally well progressing more and more through the season.
There was a total of 10 swimmers who qualified for the Midlands this season.
It has been successful too as a team having won the Diddy’s (Junior League) and also coming 7th with the B team. It shows how far the squad has come to make it their best season yet. We have had new arrivals through promotions from Dev 1 and swimmers from other clubs. The standard of swimming has stayed at the top of its level at all times.
We have focussed and worked tirelessly on skills such as dives, turns, and underwater transition. There has been a massive improvement and this reflects directly on the results through the season. We have enjoyed a high percentage of PBs in every competition. You are an amazing group of swimmers and have brought back a haul full of plenty of medals. What a season it has been.
I will lose some swimmers in the summer, and it has been a pleasure working with you, and great to see such high levels of motivation and dedication. We will also gain swimmers to get them to an even higher level than they are already at for the new season.
Finally a big thank you goes out to Dave Atkinson our assistant and cover coach for the squad, and Nga and Emily who must be congratulated for their hard work as squad reps putting many things together for all of us behind the scenes. We appreciate with us travelling to numerous new pools and great lengths, and changes to the schedule after Christmas that parents have been pivotal for getting their swimmers their to keep everyones’ attendance above 75 percent. It hasn’t been easy but this is amazing in such difficult circumstances.
It has been a pleasure to be lead coach of the squad and you have all done me proud. Bring on the new season I will focus more on the skills, speed, and stamina whilst enrapturing swimmers so they have the hunger and will to win.
Everyone please have a well deserved rest and a great holiday you all deserve it.
Thank you all.
