You no doubt will be pleased to hear the recent announcement regarding a new 50m long course competition pool to be built at Moorways in Derby. This is encouraging news and certainly not before time given the challenges we’ve all experienced over the last couple of years.
The Council have asked me to encourage all members to attend one of the public engagement sessions scheduled at Queen’s Leisure Centre on Thursday this week, and at Osmaston Community Association of Residents (OSCAR) in Addison Road on Friday (also this week) – both events are from 8am to 8pm, where you will have the opportunity to ask questions and see the plans. The architects and prime contractor will be in attendance, together with the operational staff, and PR team from the Council.
You can also see the plans on-line: http://www.inderby.org.uk/active/facilities/new-swimming-pool-complex/
I would strongly encourage you all to get along to one of the events and support swimming developments in our city.
