Meet Entry Full

Entries have been "flooding in" up to (and after!) the meet closing date, the meet is now over subscribed. In fact many entries recently received will have to be returned. We understand how disappointing this will be, but please do understand that we have a limited time available over the weekend of competition.

Accepted Entry Information

Thank you for entering our Seventh Long Course Licensed Open Meet. This year's entry has once again been fantastic with unfortunately many more entries than we can accept! Many hundreds of entries that we received after the meet was already fully subscribed are in the process of being returned. Also there were a few entries outside the Qualifying Times for this meet - use the link below for a list. These are in the process of being returned to the Clubs involved. Sorry for any disappointment.

If you were one of the unlucky ones too late with your entry and hence not accepted, we can only apologise for any disappointment. However we warmly invite you to our other 2008 Open Meet competitions held at Queens Leisure Centre, Derby, particularly our Twenty Fifth Short Course Licensed Meet in April 2008 (check back here for details in January).

Swimmers Information sheet and Coach's Passes will be sent to all accepted swimmers / Clubs. However to help you prepare for our competition and organise your weekend you should be able to download lists of accepted swimmers for your Club, the Swimmers Information sheet and draft programmes using the links below.

Meet Entry Information Downloads

Thank you for your interest in our Open Meet.

Please use the links below to enable you to view and print Meet entry information. Please remember the entry closing date is 21st November 2007, with entries accepted on a first come first served basis. For your convenience the information is available in 2 formats:

To view the PDF files you will need the free PDF 'viewer' program, Adobe Acrobat, available via the link on this page (right column). This is a much more reliable method of distributing published information for printing than simple web pages.

Both the Word and PDF format files are protected from being changed but can be printed and freely distributed.

Meet information is available with all 5 pages combined into one Zip file, or as individual pages that will load directly into either Word or Acrobat. Simply click the appropriate links. Each page should open in a new window. Simply close the window to return to this page. (When printing a PDF make sure that the 'Fit to Page' option is ticked.)

Help us to help you - submit your club entries electronically

Many Clubs will already be familiar with submitting entries to County and Regional Championships electronically. This obviously helps to improve accuracy and offers you another option for submitting your entries to our meet.

Download instructions and the zip file containing the program and data files required using the links below (the ReadMe.pdf instruction file is also included in the Program / Data zip file).

Brief Instructions :

  1. Download the Program / Data zip file and save at c:\Swimming\CODLC08\CODLC08GenericEntry.zip
  2. Extract (unzip) the files to the same folder ( c:\Swimming\CODLC08 )
  3. Run the program SPORTSYS Entry.EXE by double clicking it
  4. Follow the on screen instructions to select your Club (you only do this the first time) and add entries
  5. When all entries have been added email the two entry files for Boys (.IB) and Girls (.IG) entries to openmeets@coderby.org.uk and post your entry fee cheque.

Important entry information

Cardless Meet

As previous years, we are going to run the event without Entry Cards. This means that we will assume that all swimmers that have been accepted for this meet are going to attend and swim all the events that they entered. If you are not going to swim any one or all of the events that you have entered you MUST please let us know by either email, telephone or in person at the meet.

Entries, by Club, are now published on this web site, so that you can check your entries. Also we will be returning by post, meet information and a list of swims for each swimmer in the envelopes that you provided. Then if you are not going to swim any or all events that you have entered please either:

Telephone Christine Brocklehurst 01332 605101 (before the meet)
In Person at the meet office (Omega Suite at Ponds Forge).

Tell us your Name, Club and the Events that you want to withdraw from and if possible your Competitor Number for each event (which can be found in the accepted entry lists for your Club above).

You must tell us that you are withdrawing from an event before the start of the warm up for the session in which the event is due to be swum. After this time it will be assumed that you are swimming the event and a lane will be allocated to you. (Withdrawls after this time may result in an empty lane).

Heat start lists will be printed for each session and will be available with competitors stewards and meet officials.
