Lane draw will be done on day.

***PLEASE NOTE THE AGE GROUP REQUIREMENTS FOR THE EVENT: Age for 9yrs 26.11.17, 10/11/12 yrs 31.12.17

The cannon relay is  8×1 1 Boy, 1 Girl in ascending order of age.

There has also been a bit of drama with the Southern league Champions who were to qualify for the Southern final on Sunday. Please read below to help you understand what is happening when we arrive on Sunday:

Due to an ongoing unresolved issue in the Southern League results the Southern Area Final will be swum under protest. It has been decided that the two teams in question from the Southern League, Swim Bournemouth and Poole SC will be permitted to swim on the day albeit ‘under protest’.

This situation is rare. To try to be fair to all, this is the process we will follow:

On the day Poole and Swim Bournemouth will draw for lanes 1 or 7 to swim so neither team is advantaged by lane draw pending investigation results and both have an outside lane.

Teams that have qualified without issue will draw for lanes 2-6.

The points will be recorded as for an 8 team gala on the day, but will not stand, pending a team withdrawal and will be reworked points 1-6 for progression to the Grand Final.

The results on the day will be with-held, no results as such will be announced, no medals will be issued.

On the findings of the Southern League there is only one team that can represent them in the results of the Southern Area Final; the other team will be removed from the results in full, their results will be null and void and cannot be used. The gala results will be confirmed and issued with points 1-6 per race as indicated above, teams will be contacted and medals will be awarded accordingly.

SO we must aim to swim our fastest and beat all 6 opposing teams especially as it may be hard as the gala progresses to understand the position that we could be in after each event. Please, please, parents we need you to sit together to have a big impact for the swimmers. I will get Mick Ward (Thanks Mick)to give out flags and with his leadership in the spectator area he will get our supporters’ team spirit going! Parents please go all out and wear blue.

If you haven’t already please collect your tickets from Nga or ask someone who will see her.

Staff for the Gala:

Pippa Hibbs Judge level 2 & Anna Cadden Judge level 1

Lead Coach Rich Pilcher

Coaches Mark Bromage, Maria Millere, Dave Atkinson

Team Managers Nga Mason & Emily Roome

We need to finish in the top four to qualify for the National Final.

All swimmers should receive a new CoD hat as a memento for the day. See you all at 11.30am in the car park before going across to the park for a pre-pool warm up! If we work hard and try our best which I am positive we all will we may take a visit to a certain top American restaurant afterwards. Mmmm nice, lovin’ it! GO DERBY!
