Six of our swimmers made the journey to Hillingdon for a mid-cycle competition to rehearse tactics in preparation for British Summer Champs and have some fun racing. The swimmers did themselves justice by all coming away having demonstrated improvement in technique, tactics and lifetime best times. There were some very significant swims from the group and we are pleased to move on to the next part of the journey!
Along with individual events, the meet included a 4×50 Medley Skins event where the top 8 swimmers from the 200 IM qualified through to compete in this elimination challenge. Ellie Baldwin was our first qualifier on Sunday. She made it all the way to the final round and received breaststroke for the final draw! It was a stroke for stroke race to which Ellie came in a very close second with just 0.09 seconds separating the two swimmers! Next up were Greg Butler, Kieran Wheatley and Will Foster who qualified through on the men’s side. Their first draw was backstroke and in a close race that came down to just 0.01 seconds, both Greg and Kieran were eliminated. Will made it through to the final round and with another backstroke draw he finished 1st to win the event!
A huge thank you to Phil for your time, support and driving this weekend!
