Cool Crocs and Nemos Squads

Parents (of the above squads),

There is an expectation that once swimmers enter the Cool Crocs improvers that they are committing to entering competitions. We currently have a full squad of junior coaching level 4 swimmers who are desperate to move up and start competing. For Cool Crocs there are only a handful a year. Club champs is one at what ever age the swimmer is usually 6 years old and above. For Nemos there are a few more competitions we target as a club. Sometimes swimmers may not be able to enter if they are under the age of 9, or if they do not meet the lower or upper cut of times. B grade galas and level 3 meets are often great competitions and the correct standard for these squad swimmers to start out in. Level 1 meets are often for higher performing swimmers in squads above. The are a competitive club. There were some fantastic swims in the Rykneld meet at the weekend from our young swimmers. We are selecting the junior league team for round 2 and will be using times achieved at the weekend. Last year we finished in the top 7 in the country for this junior league competition. When new swimmers arrive at the club into these squads we will support them to improve their diving. We will be running sessions to develop this particularly to those who now should be competing. Please talk to your squad rep and Lead Coach about the races you should enter.

I will be looking at the records to see that all eligible swimmers have entered our forthcoming City of Derby B grade meet held at Queens Street on 1st July. There will be lots of support from familiar Coaches and in a pool you will have trained in!  We must have these entries in by 1st May 6pm to

Any queries or concerns about this please do not hesitate to contact me. Please let me know if you are unavailable for this competition as a matter of urgency.

I also look forward to seeing swimmers in Cool Crocs upper and Nemos squads this Saturday. Nemos swimmers should arrive promptly and be poolside by 7.20am ready for land training and to be informed which lane you will be put into.

Finally, we will be shortly competing in training in a 1 hour 15 minute distance swim in the gala pool. More info to follow in the coming weeks.
