Please see the results for the 3 length races (54 metres). These can be approximately compared to your 50 metre times as in the teaching pool you have an extra length and turn at the wall compared with in the gala pool.
I hope those in level 4 enjoyed their extra experience in a Cool Crocs session. I was also impressed with how many attended land training and competed in ‘continuous’ running relays and ‘interval’ training at the Silk Mill green. See you again next Thursday at 5.45pm in the foyer at QLC ready to walk up. Bring an extra bottle.
Thanks again to all those parents who time kept, and especially those who it was their first experience of it.
I expect all swimmers in the squad who are 9 and over to have a go in a few races at the Derby B grade level 3 meet in July. You do not need to enter estimated times now. The 50 metre races will be an ideal way to start out and familiarise themselves with competitive swimming, and any longer distance races in their favourite strokes too. This gala is also run by City of Derby so plenty of familiar and friendly faces around. Finally please please let me know if you can help to run the gala from serving drinks to stewarding and telling swimmers when to go down to their race.
