British Summer Championships Day 1
City of Derby off to a golden start!!
Will Foster was soon in action in the first event of the day and posted his second fastest time of all time in the 400m Freestyle and a current 12 months rankings time of 4.11.48. This time secured first reserve place for the final. 

Next up: Amy Grant recorded a time of 2.08.02 in the 200m Freestyle gaining further top flight experience ahead of the 17 yrs plus 4 X 200m Relay team event on Thursday.

Greg Butler contested one of the 100m Breaststroke seeded heats and finished in 1.06.89 ( a fastest ever heat time) ranking him 7th for the 16 yrs final in the evening session.

Next, it was the turn of the girls to compete in the 50m Breaststroke event.

Michaela Stephen recorded her 2nd fastest time ever and dipped under the 35 sec mark with 34.99. She finished a creditable 14th in her age category, missing a place in the final by just 0. 11sec!

Sarah Vasey looked in great form as she recorded the fastest time of the day finishing in 31.27.
The finals session saw Greg Butler post a pb of 1.05.48 and finish in 5th place in the 16 yrs 100m Breaststroke.

Sarah Vasey sparkled in the 19 years plus 50m Breaststroke final, recording a time of 30.84 to win gold in her 5th fastest time of all time!

Can’t wait for day 2 when Harriet Cooper, Ellie Baldwin, Lewis White & Sophie Yendell make their first appearances with Greg Butler & Michaela Stephen making further appearances in Breaststroke events.
